Who was Rembrandt?
Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn, at the age of 22, was so highly sought
after that he began taking on pupils, including some famous artists in
their own rights. Rembrandt moved to Amsterdam in 1631, and was married
in 1634 to the cousin of a successful art dealer. The marriage between
the two Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn pained portraits, but Rembrandt's mythological and religious works were some of his most popular. Despite Rembrandt's high demand and teaching skill, Rembrandt's family life was plagued with misfortune. This did not hurt Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn's work though, if anything, his art was the only constant throughout his life. |
